VIrals is a book series about four teens from the towns surrounding Charleston, South Carolina. Victoria "Tory" Brennan is the 14-year-old, red-headed leader of the Virals. Ben Blue is 16 years old, of unproven Sewee descent, and has a quiet, thoughtful demeanor with his temper close to the surface. These four friends are already a tight-knit group when they meet Cooper, a wolf-dog crossbreed who has been the victim of viral experimentation. This encounter leaves the group forever changed - linked to each other with superhuman abilities. The team dubs themselves VIrals, as a nod to the experimental parvovirus that gave them their powers. Each book features the team in a new adventure in and around Charleston, fighting crime while navigating crushes, cotillion, family, and conflicts with the virus inside them.
