An American comedy/romance film released in 1945. Following the end of World War II, war hero Jefferson Jones (Dennis Morgan) is invited to spend Christmas at a quaint farm in Connecticut owned by renowned housekeeping columnist Elizabeth Lane (Barbara Stanwyck), along with her husband and newborn child. This charitable opportunity to increase the column’s circulation was organized by Elizabeth’s publisher, the headstrong Alexander Yardley (Sydney Greenstreet). Yardley, however, is unaware that Elizabeth’s column is a complete sham. With the war hero on the way, Elizabeth attempts to arrange for herself a husband, a farm, and a baby in order to host the soldier and save her career.
