The film is about the complex, dramatic, sometimes heroic everyday life of doctors of the main institute of emergency medicine – the famous "Sklifa". Their work is a test of strength, every day they give someone a second life... At the center of the story is the uneasy relationship of surgeon Oleg Bragin, a brilliant doctor, smart, tough and charismatic, but who has long been desperate to find something real in life besides work, and the boss Larisa, who managed to see through Bragin's cynicism a lost and lonely person in life.
