Like the rest of his family, he was a military man. He served two years in the Navy before enlisting in the Army, where he served in Vietnam. He returned home to Texas where he continued to serve his country as a member of the Texas National Guard.
He died June 7, 2011 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in San Antonio. He was 62.
