The Anti-Hero personality type is ISTP, the type that's commonly known as the "Tough Guy". This type is often portrayed as that of a tough-as-nails, cynical, no-nonsense, no-holds-barred, ruthless, and uncompromising assassin who will not hesitate to kill anyone in his way.
The Anti-Hero's job is to go after people or things that need to be killed or destroyed. However, they are very rarely good people, although they will demonstrate compassionate qualities in the face of true danger.
This type is also known as the "Respectable Heel", because they are often people who are widely disliked for their actions by the general public. They are the villains of the story, and they usually get their comeuppance in the end.
The Anti-Hero is usually portrayed as a very dangerous individual who is willing to do anything to get what he wants. He is often portrayed as a very cold-blooded individual with no remorse for others, and he may even be willing to go to any length to get what he wants. He does not care about others, and views them as means to an end.
An Archetypal Character who is almost as common in modern fiction as the Ideal Hero, an anti-hero is a protagonist who has the opposite of most of the traditional attributes of a hero. They may be bewildered, ineffectual, deluded, or merely apathetic. More often an anti-hero is just an amoral misfit. While heroes are typically conventional, anti-heroes, depending on the circumstances, may be preconventional (in a "good" society), postconventional (if the government is "evil") or even unconventional. Not to be confused with the villain or the Big Bad, who is the opponent of Heroes (and Anti-Heroes, for that matter).
