Li Shimin personality type is INTJ, that makes sense to me. He certainly doesn't follow the NTJ personality type. That's why he's the most powerful person in all of China. He's the only person who can make decisions on high level without consulting anyone else.
You could argue that his son, Emperor Taizong of Tang (also an INTJ) was even more powerful. And yet, he had a much more difficult time making important decisions. He was no closer to the people than Emperor Taizong of Tang, who was much less influential than his father.
You can also argue that Xuanzong's son, Li Hong (also an INTJ) was even more powerful. But he died in a coup during the reign of Emperor Xianzong (an INFP) and was replaced by a man who was completely different from Li Hong.
When you look at the record, most of the most powerful people in history have been INTJs, and they've all been very loyal to their families. Even if they were very powerful, they weren't as powerful as their sons or brothers would have been.
