Ashley Grant began competing in pageants when she was a baby. She won many local competitions and was named Miss Ocala 2006. In 2006, Ashley competed in the Miss Florida 2006 pageant, where she was a Top 5 finalist. In 2007, Ashley competed in the Miss Florida Teen USA pageant, where she was crowned Miss Teen USA 2007. During her reign, Ashley became the first contestant with an eating disorder to win Miss Teen USA. Ashley also became the youngest Miss Teen USA ever. She wanted to represent her home state of Florida in the 2008 Miss USA pageant, but she was not allowed to compete because of her eating disorder.
