Dave personality type is ESTP, and I may be wrong, but I think that ESTP personality type is associated with an attitude of "whatever".
It's not that this person is a bad person, it's just that they think there is no such thing as a bad idea and if it seems like a good idea at the time, they will go along with it.
This person is generally spontaneous and enjoys the thrill of the moment and the excitement of not knowing what's going to happen next. It's also not uncommon for this person to jump from idea to idea without any thought about how it will affect them.
So if the ESTP personality type is seen as a bad thing, then I think that the way to look at it is that it's just a different way of doing things.
For example, I grew up with a bunch of ESTPs who were all great friends and we weren't any different than any other group of friends. Sure we were all a little more spontaneous and we would often go off and do our own thing without asking anyone else if we could do it, but we were also very close.
