Volodja personality type is INFP, but he is not INFP because he is a rather cynical and sarcastic person who doesn’t always see things from the best of angles.
I think it’s more accurate to say that he is an ENFJ who has very strong Ne elements — as we all do.
His cynicism is a defense mechanism of sorts, to protect himself from the pain that causes him. He’s a child, really, and his natural inclination is to help others and be generous.
That said, there is always a small part of him that wants to be right, and dislikes the idea of being wrong. It’s that Ne part that can sometimes be a bit judgmental.
(For those of you unfamiliar with Keirsey’s type theory: Ne is the rational or empirical function, or type. ENFJs are “guardians” who tend to be very loyal and protective, but who also have strong Ne. This makes them very sensitive to other people’s feelings, and can make them over-think things. They also get very angry if someone does something that hurts someone they love.)
