Jason Dean "J.D." personality type is ISTP, or Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, Perceiving. His type is the least common and least understood of all types. It's a "tough nut to crack" and there's a lot I could say about it, but I'll spare you the details. He's a decent guy and I like him.
I like the idea of ISTP because it shows that there are differences between men and women, something that's difficult to grasp when we're all made from the same stuff. Still, I worry that it's too simplistic.
For starters, it seems to imply that women and men are basically the same: ISTP and INTP. If so, why do we have so much trouble understanding each other? Why do we need a type at all? Isn't the male brain just a big heap of INTPs?
There's also the obvious problem that it applies only to men. I imagine that if you take all the women in the world and bring them to a kind of concentration camp, or what used to be called a concentration camp, you'd still have a bunch of INFJs and INFPs, both of which are far more common than ISTPs.
