Alpa Chino personality type is ESFP, and ALPs are famously known for their joie de vivre and spontaneity.
I suspect that the ALPs and Chinos in our society use these same approaches to fit into their respective groups. So these two sets of people fit well together.
It is also interesting to notice that both sets of people can be found in software development, which is another area in which their type combinations are very common.
To return to our current topic, I have noticed that ALPs are more interested in how they are perceived by others, whereas Chinos are more interested in the intrinsic value of their work. This is what I call the “perception vs. reality” dilemma.
It is very common in sales for sales people with an ALP type to use words with a positive connotation in their sales conversations. They may say things like “We’ve got this deal locked up” or “If you want to call us you can have it in 3 days”. These are very strong opening statements that are designed to put the other party at ease.
To my mind, these are not realistic statements by any standards.
