Grace Personality Type, MBTI

Grace personality type is ENFP, although in this case it is more accurate to describe him as an INFP. While in the past I had some difficulty with the concept of the ‘idealized other’ (previously discussed in my post on the INFP and INFJ types), I’ve become much more comfortable with it, and I see it as an opportunity rather than a limitation. The reason for this is that I now see it as a tool, not only to understand myself but also to be able to empathize with others. At first, I was concerned that the ‘idealized other’ would lead to a kind of narcissism, which is something that I’ve come to understand as a symptom of the ENFP type. However, I’ve come to appreciate it as a tool for understanding and empathy: the ENFP is someone who seeks out and identifies with what they perceive as ‘idealized others’ – which for me is an ENFP – and then uses the knowledge of their strengths and weaknesses to create a more complete and realistic self-image.
