She’s also good at being a mom. Mimi and her husband, Stephen, have three kids — one in high school, and two in elementary school.
She also has a history of perfectionism, and acknowledges that it was something that did not serve her well in the classroom.
“I would do things that were not an efficient use of time,” she said. “I was a perfectionist and I would be late a lot.”
Mimi moved to Kailua in 2009 after living in the Midwest for many years. She and her husband were looking to get out of their small hometown, where they felt they were losing touch with their families.
“We were looking for a slower pace of life,” she said.
That it would be in Hawaii was a bonus.
