The series begins when the main character, Yuu Kamiya, meets a street urchin named Jirou Akatsuka. Jirou tells Yuu that he is a Yukan no Shonen, a reincarnation of the legendary hero Musashi Miyamoto. After they meet, Jirou explains that they are both destined to become Musashi, and that he will teach Yuu the ways of the warrior. Thus, they travel around the country in search of adventures and train to become strong enough for the day that they must face each other in a battle to the death.
The main character in Yukan no Shonen is a boy named Yuu Kamiya. He has blond hair, blue eyes, and is about 15 years old. He is an optimist, though he also possesses serious moments. He has great determination and tries to act like the hero Musashi because of his desire to be strong.

Both are unlisted YouTube videos. He takes on the appearance of a young Japanese boy in a dark navy blue kimono with distorted eyes, though his entire body seems to be in monochrome. His eyes are enlarged, crossed, and seem to be dripping or smeared in a grey liquid, he has a round head and he appears with his hand up in the gallery. His hair is quite short and his skin color is a shade of gray.
