As an ENFP, my first instinct was to read people, to assess their intentions, to size up their beliefs and values, to understand how they were feeling. I found out pretty quickly that I couldn't do all of that at the same time. I had to prioritize. At some point, I realized that if I didn't start prioritizing my own needs, the one thing I was going to miss out on was just being an ENFP. I started to ask myself, "Am I making myself quite enough priority number one?"

We have a tendency to ignore our own needs because we think if we don't put ourselves first, someone else will. While that's true to an extent, it's also true that if we don't take care of ourselves, we won't be able to take care of anyone else. It's not just a matter of being selfish. There's nothing selfish about prioritizing yourself. It's all about being responsible and taking care of yourself.
