Caesar personality type is ESTP, and the ESTP is typically not a very good writer. So, my first draft was awful, and I actually recorded it on a cassette. It was awful. I mean, it was like basically a book report on Moby Dick. I was so embarrassed. I did not have the knowledge of the language, so I went back and re-wrote it. I got rid of all those sections, and re-wrote it from scratch.
What’s funny about the book is that it feels like the style of the book is really dated. At the time, I would have said that I’m an early adopter of technology, and when I started to write this book, I was actually using a manual typewriter. I had to take it apart every night and put every single piece back together. And there were no computers at all.
I think it’s funny that people are looking at my writing style and saying, “Oh, she’s so old-fashioned!” But you know what? I was old-fashioned then. I was writing this book prior to the invention of email.
