Ice personality type is ISTJ, which is a bit of a surprise. It’s not hard to fit the ISTJ ideal with the way that Ice is portrayed in the book (i.e. as a rather by-the-book and socially distant person, at least at first), but I’m not sure that it’s a very accurate representation of the personality type.
The other major characters in the book, while they aren’t all ISTJ, are also fairly representative of their types:
Angelica (INTJ) – Angelica is an INTJ. She’s warm, funny, and surprisingly self-aware for her type. Her relationship with Ice is based on INTJ “teacher/pupil” dynamics.
Ice (ISTJ) – Ice is a bit of an unusual ISTJ, but he has his moments. He’s not very warm, but he does have a few moments of self-discovery. He’s not really a protagonist.
Where the book really falls apart for me is in its structure.
