I'm not sure how it happened but my first impression of Kilik was that he was a pure-hearted good guy. He's not. He's insufferably arrogant and snobby. And he's also a career criminal. Most career criminals are pure-hearted good guys. This is the guy who stole the 7th Dragonball and hid it in a volcano on an island with no escape route. "No one will find it there" is his justification for doing this. He is also the guy who killed off the entire dragon team just to get to the dragonballs he needed. He's the guy who pushed a rock onto a witch's head just to steal a single spell from her. He's a total jerk, but he doesn't mean harm to anyone, and he does his best to help anyone who doesn't deserve harm. This is a very dangerous combination for a character, because it means he ends up being a jerk to everyone around him.
