Phil personality type is ENFP, which means I have a lot of ENFP traits. One of those traits is being a people-pleaser. I'm a people-pleaser to a fault. I love helping people, and if I can help someone, I will do it. I'll do it unconditionally, and I will always ask for something in return. But again, I'm a people-pleaser to a fault.

Here's the thing: ENFPs are wired to help others, but they really aren't wired to help themselves. ENFPs are meant to be caregivers. It's our natural instinct to care for others, and we're supposed to be emotionally available to our family and friends. That's why we're people-pleasers: We feel a deep need to help people because we were taught from a very young age that we need to serve others.

While it's fine to be a people-pleaser, it's not healthy. Why? Because you can't nurture others if you're neglecting yourself. At some point, you'll run out of energy and be unable to care for yourself and the people around you.
