I would like to note that the predominant focus of the work by MBTI experts, especially Don Campbell, is trying to sort out the differences among Extraversion (E) and Introversion (I). However, I have found it very useful for my purposes to keep the Introvert-Extravert distinction. The ability to sense other people’s feelings and to read their minds is part of what differentiates Extraversion from Introversion. And the second half of the distinction, i.e., sensing people’s thoughts, is not part of it. Extraverts are not good at sensing people’s thoughts, i.e., are not good at reading minds. It is not that they do not have the tools to be good at it; they just do not use them.
