This can work if they can let go of the need to please and focus on pleasing themselves.
The biggest problem with all this is that people pleasers are often disappointed by others. They want others to be better than they are, but for all the wrong reasons. They may find themselves in a position to influence others, but their focus is on them, not on their loved ones.
