Belka personality type is ENFJ, and they’re both very loving and caring. So even though there was this deep tension between them, over the course of the story, they had a lot of the same characteristics.
It’s also interesting that in the end, Liesel, as an ENFP, is kind of a catalyst for the change in Hans’s personality, because she’s the one who made the connection between him and his brother, which was something that he never really wanted to do.
Hannah: It’s okay to be a little skeptical of that connection. I don’t think anyone would ever know for sure if Hans’s brother was dead or alive. But there’s also this possibility that he could be alive and it doesn’t matter because he’s not going to come back.
MB: It’s a possibility, and I think it’s a version of something that happens a lot in life. We all have a certain amount of people in our lives that we look up to and we want them to be a little better than they are, because they are a positive influence on us in some way.
