Cletus was born in Queens, New York. His father left his mother when he was an infant and was killed by his mother's lover. Shortly after that, his mother died of cancer. He was raised by a single mother who had him on a strict schedule and often punished him for being late.
Cletus was a popular junior high school bully, who was always searching for new victims, and was popular with the girls. In his sophomore year at high school, he met a girl named Kim who he began dating. Her father was a local crime boss, and one day Cletus got into a fight with him.
