James Potter personality type is ESFJ, which is a more social version of ENFJ.
In his first year at Hogwarts, James struggled with his friends and his studies. He was reluctant to join any of the social groups at school, and even though he was in Gryffindor, he didn't really make many friends. He preferred to spend time with his own kind, and he was always willing to spend time with his older brother, Sirius.
James began to grow out of this shyness, and he became a well-liked and respected member of the school community. In his fifth year, James made two very good friends: Lily Evans, a first year Gryffindor, and Peter Pettigrew, a Slytherin who had recently been accepted into the school. James was also quite friendly with Remus Lupin, a fellow Gryffindor (and future teacher at Hogwarts). James also made several lesser friendships with students in his house.
James' personality was very similar to his father's, except he was generally less rebellious and had a stronger sense of duty. He was open and honest with Lily, more so than either his mother or father could be.
