The next two observations came from my own observations of the forum and its users. A high percentage of users are prone to extreme self-absorption. For example, they will post a thread that asks for a particular type of user, and then they will reply with a long post about their own personal experiences, experiences that have nothing to do with the topic on hand. Other users will then respond to them with a very polite, "Thanks for your input" or "You're right", as if they were agreeing with everything they said. In other words, their posts are very self-centered.
In contrast, those who are less inclined to self-centeredness often post in a manner that is more polite. For example, they will reply to someone with, "I think your post is interesting, but I am more interested in getting feedback on a new project I have been working on.
