    The Brilliance of the ISTP

The dominant function of an ISTP is Introverted Sensing, or Si. ISTPs are naturally good at detecting how something is made, where it came from, and how it works. They are likely to love things that are made well and robust, and may prefer things that they can fix themselves.

They are also likely to be excellent at mechanical tasks, which is why they are so often the technicians in their workplaces. They are hard workers who do not mind hard work, even if they are not too excited by it.

Like all Sensing types, they are attracted to things that are reliable or predictable, but they also tend to avoid things that are too complex or difficult to understand, especially if they are not sure if they can understand it.

This makes them excellent at things that require routine maintenance, such as the upkeep of machines or technical devices. Unlike other types that are often considered to be more logical or analytical, they are actually more likely to be highly intuitive about how things work, but they are sometimes dismissive of this quality.

William Pitt the Younger was a prominent British Tory statesman of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. He became the youngest prime minister of Great Britain in 1783 at the age of 24 and the first prime minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland as of January 1801. He left office in March 1801, but served as prime minister again from 1804 until his death in 1806. He was also Chancellor of the Exchequer for all of his time as prime minister. He is known as "the Younger" to distinguish him from his father, William Pitt, 1st Earl of Chatham, who is customarily referred to as "William Pitt the Elder" and had previously served as prime minister. Pitt's prime ministerial tenure, which came during the reign of King George III, was dominated by major political events in Europe, including the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars.
