Grantaire personality type is ENTP, so I didn't get a good gauge of his character in the book, but the way he acts in the musical episode was a lot more like what I would expect from a stereotypical ENTP. The way he insists on going on about how much he loves the composers and actors and musicians and "the sound of a string quartet" and all that jazz, and his tendency to ramble about random stuff when no one is listening to him—that's exactly what I would expect from a stereotypical ENTP. And when the others put him in his place, it's almost like he was EXPECTING that they would.
In all honesty, I think a lot of people would have a hard time identifying an ENTP in a musical, mostly because a lot of ENTPs don't seem to be very comfortable being in positions of power or being centre stage. That's not to say there aren't any, but they're definitely a minority.
I have to admit that I was a little disappointed that Herc didn't get a full musical episode.
