Boris Mikhaylovich Shaposhnikov (Бори́с Миха́йлович Ша́пошников) - born in 1882, commander of the Red Army and military theorist. Commander of the Kliment Voroshilov Military Academy, Chief of General Staff of the Red Army, Deputy Minister of Defence of the USSR, Marshal of the Soviet Union (1940). He was active in committees related to the creation of regulations of the armed forces, in which the Soviet war doctrine was expressed. He died on 26 March 1945; after being cremated, an urn with ashes was laid in the Kremlin wall on Red Square in Moscow.
