Ma Ying-jeou (Ma Yingjiu) is a Hong Kong-born Taiwanese politician who served as the sixth president of the Republic of China (Taiwan) from 2008 to 2016. His previous political roles include Justice Minister (1993–96) and Mayor of Taipei (1998–2006). He was also the Chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT) between 2005–2007 and 2009–2014.
