Owen Wright personality type is ENTP, which is sometimes called the "Rational" in personality theory. As an ENTP, I've found that I'm not naturally much of a "people person," and I'm not a naturally "social" person either. I have a hard time being good at small talk and keeping conversations going, and I've always had an aversion to social gatherings. This is because as an ENTP, I'm not the type to be social for the sake of being social, I'm more likely to be social for some type of practical reason or another. However, I do enjoy socializing and I have found that I am better at making friends than the average ENTP.
The Best Way to Make Friends as an ENTP
My best advice to people of this type is to focus on the practical value of a friend. One of my favorite quotes is from the novel "The Prince" by Niccolo Machiavelli:
"It is a good thing to be loved, but it is a better thing to be needed."
In general, ENTPs seem to be much better at making friends when they focus on how their friends will benefit them in some way.
