The other major part of the film is the story of the pirates and the evil Captain Salazar. This part of the film is more like a stereotypical and clichéd “B” film, and the story was honestly not very interesting. The fact that this film has such a great story and such a great cast should be an indication that the Pirates franchise should take more risks, and that it should bring more than just a “B” movie to the table.
The acting in the film was good, but I didn’t feel like I got to know any of the characters. I’m not sure what could have been done with this film to make it better, but I think a lot of things could have been done differently.
My biggest problem with this film was that it took itself way too seriously. The whole concept was funny, and I always love a good comedy, but it’s hard to take something that is supposed to be funny seriously.
