Munchausen was initially interested in the concept of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) because of its popularity and widespread use in corporations. He was a believer of the notion that there are nine personality types based on Jung’s model, but he felt that Jung’s model was inaccurate. He believed that the MBTI was a better model and had a positive impact on the world.
Munchausen ultimately believed that there were no such things as types. He felt that there are only seven types, which are combinations of one or more of the four dichotomous pairs that Jung identified: extroversion-introversion, sensing-intuition, thinking-feeling, and judging-perceiving. However, in an interview with Steve Biddulph in 2007, Munchausen had a different view on his own type.
