Stan Brakhage personality type is INFP, and I can attest to the fact that he was indeed an INFP. He was a very introverted and quiet person. His films may look like they're about something, but in reality they're mostly an expression of his inner life and creative process.
What's your creative process like?
I've been making films since I was a teenager (and still don't know why I did it), and one of the things I've noticed is that my films tend to fall into two categories: films that are about real people and films that are about myself.
Most films I make are about real people - like the films I made when I was an obituary editor for The New York Times (I worked on obituaries) or films about my friends. I most recently completed a documentary about my girlfriend, which was about her creative process in making films. And most films I make are films about myself, films that are autobiographical or films that are films about me.
So, my films are really about me, but not in the sense of "self-indulgent work." Because most of my films are about real people, they're really just films about me.
