Well, I can tell you that in my opinion, in terms of TV characters, Castle is one of the most interesting characters in TV right now. He is a unique character in that he is unlikely to ever be murdered, yet is constantly being threatened with death, so he constantly has to watch his back. That's not to say that Castle won't be killed off eventually, because he definitely will be. He's also constantly being tested by people who are out to get him.
Castle is one of my favorite characters on TV right now, because he is constantly testing himself, constantly trying new things, always learning something new, constantly growing.
