Mamoru Chiba (Tuxedo Mask) personality type is ISTJ, or Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, Judging. I’ve known the original Chiba character in the manga for over 20 years, but I didn’t really know what type he was until I read his “official” profile in the official Sailor Moon Encyclopedia. The Chiba in the anime is also ISTJ, or Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, Judging.
I recently rewatched the first season of Sailor Moon and was struck by the similarities between Chiba and Mamoru. I’ve decided to look at some of these similarities and see if they’re applicable to real life.
The Chiba in the manga is a tall, skinny kid with long hair. He has a very gentle demeanor. He is different from the Mamoru of the anime in that he does not seem to have any supernatural powers. He doesn’t transform into Sailor V or Sailor Venus. He doesn’t have the same kind of powers that Mamoru does in the anime. He has no super strength or super speed. He’s just a normal guy, but he’s certainly strong enough to protect Usagi from bullies on the school grounds.
