This was all at his suggestion.
I never mentioned the food - I think he thought that was irrelevant, and I agreed.
I think he was just feeling defensive. I would have suggested a compromise.
I don't think I've ever suggested anything he wasn't interested in.
I'm not saying that if I am going to go out to eat, it has to be with him. I'm only saying that it seems to me that you have a problem with it when it's not with you.
Perhaps he didn't want to be the one to make the suggestion, but perhaps he still would have been fine with it. I'm not sure.
But it was clear that he wanted to control the entire event, not just the food. Even though the food was the most important part.
I did suggest that we go out for dinner and he said he would think about it.
I don't know what else to say about this other than that I apologize for not being able to make it up to him for this.
