Ike is one of the more "human" characters in this game. He's a character with a lot of depth, and he's not just some dumb-jock fighter. He's an actual human being, with hopes and fears and emotions. He's actually a very nuanced character, despite being in a game about killing.
Ike can be kind of a jerk at times, but he's also the only person to ever actually feel remorse for killing somebody. When he killed Guy and gave the other Red XIII such a look, he was actually looking at himself, and hoping that he didn't go down the same path.
Ike also has a very human sense of humor; he's almost always cracking jokes when he's around his teammates. I guess it's not much of a surprise that he's an ISTP type.
