Conrad Birdie personality type is ESTP, and with that, I would have no problem casting her in any of the movies that came out of the Disney Renaissance. She’s a bit like how I feel about Anna Kendrick: she’d be great in any movie. And like Anna, I can see Anne Hathaway as a Conrad Birdie character, maybe not at first, but eventually.
The real question, though, is whether she can play a character like this one for a long period of time. I’m not sure she has the chops for that. The thing about Conrad Birdie is that it’s such a simple character. He’s just a nerd who loves to sing. There is no real depth there, just the surface-level of character that is entertaining and fun, but not deep enough to keep the audience invested. I think Anne Hathaway would have a hard time playing the character for more than an hour on Broadway or on a movie set.
So, yes…I think Anna Kendrick would be great in a couple of Disney movies. But I think she would be better suited to play something more like ‘A Cinderella Story.
