Emma personality type is INFP, and she's the most idealistic person I've ever met. She has a deep-seated belief that everyone is inherently good, which is why she doesn't think twice about giving to those in need. She also believes we have a moral obligation to help others because it's the right thing to do. People disagree with her because they're selfish and only see the good in themselves. This is what makes her so strongly opposed to Donald Trump. If he does get elected, she'll be very unhappy.
So what does she do? She decides to go on a "spiritual mission" (her words) where she goes to live in a cave and meditates on her ideals for the next three months while she waits for Trump's inauguration. I love this girl.
But Emma isn't the only character in the story who has left the confines of reality and entered a spiritual place in search of answers.
In one of my favorite scenes, Emma is on her way to her cave when she encounters a homeless man. He introduces himself as "the spirit of New York." He explains that he's been trapped in this world for a long time and is tired of living in it.
