They like things to be ready before they need them. They like things to be on time. They like to keep things orderly and predictable. They like to work on things, not on people. They do not like to hang out for hours on end with people on the phone. They like to be on time. But they like to talk on the phone. (I am guessing here.)
They like data, facts, and figures, concrete information. They do not like abstract ideas or things that are hard to pin down or quantify. That is what ISTJs do not like. I think ISTJs are more pragmatic about life than idealistic.
