Huatli personality type is ENFJ, and she just finished a round of revisions on her newest book, The Tao of Huatli. She's a writer, teacher, and consultant—and the principle behind the Peaceful Parents site. Huatli is one of my top favorite characters in Magic and has been a huge part of my life since I was introduced to the game by my brother.
I was so excited when Huatli came out as an IRL character in Rivals of Ixalan. I had been campaigning for years to see a female Planeswalker as the lead, and I'm so glad that it finally happened! I was so happy, in fact, that I wrote an essay about it and shared it on my social media. I talked about how awesome it was, how much I loved Huatli, and why she needed to be a lead character. The article triggered quite a bit of discussion about representation and diversity in Magic, so I thought I'd share the essay with you here.
Huatli is a character for me because she's so relatable. She's a mother, she's someone who has had to overcome hardship, and she's also a badass fighter.
