"I'm not the type of introvert who doesn't want to go out and talk to other people," he said. "I just don't have the desire to do so. I prefer being alone, which is true for many other extroverted people."
Howland, who also counts himself as an "amanuensis," said he's able to be creative when he works in solitude.
