The Wolowitzes' van is a 1999 Dodge Caravan with a two-person tent on top; they also have a trailer that is "like a home office" and is big enough for the family to spend a week in Phoenix or Las Vegas. "We like to explore and see what's out there," says Karen. "We like to be on the road."
After this year's long road trip, they'll be headed to see the Grand Canyon for the first time. At the time of their last visit, David was 4 and Emily was 2. "I can't wait for my kids to see the Grand Canyon," says Karen. "It's such an incredible sight."
She says it's one of her husband's favorite places to visit. "I'm not sure he understands how amazing it is," she adds.
David's favorite place is the beach, where he can explore rocks and shells.
