Grinch (MW 3) personality type is ISTJ, the third of the seven cognitive functions. The ISTJ is the Inspector or Tester of the group. They are the ones in the group who will be looking for any deficiencies in the group’s performance. They are always looking for gaps, deficiencies and flaws in what everyone else is doing. They are always trying to determine which roles are most important and which ones aren’t as important as they should be. They will be the one who will have a blind spot when it comes to seeing other people’s strengths or weaknesses and they will be the one who will tend to group people together by how well they perform their job. ISTJs will usually try to find a balance between the roles and responsibilities and the people who fill those roles and responsibilities. They want to make sure that everyone is being treated fairly and is doing everything they can to do their job well. They are also the ones who often have the ability to “keep it real” with other team members and say things like, “Sometimes you have to work a little bit harder than other people do to do your job well”. The ISTJ wants to make sure that everyone is on the same page with what needs to be done.
