Shō Utsumi personality type is ENTP, a type that I have long been on the fence about. While I identify strongly with many of the characteristics of the ENTP, I have an uneasy relationship with some of them, including their insistence on breaking rules and on being different from others. In the words of the old saying, “I am an ENTP. I’m going to do what I want to do!”
And that’s exactly what Shō did. He left his hometown in Kyushu and made a new life in Hokkaido, a place that he found a little bit scary at first. With a work ethic that was a mix of ENTP and B-type characteristics from his mother, Shō had a lot of success in his new job. He became a manager at a large company and took the job very seriously.
However, Shō had a problem. He was not happy at his work. He didn’t like what he was doing and he couldn’t see himself staying in Japan for the long term. He wanted to go back to Canada, and he was determined to make that happen.
