I would say that it is more likely that he is an INFJ if he was an ENFJ. Although INFJs are very loving, caring, and empathetic people, they tend to be very quiet about it. They do not like to make a big scene about things like this. People may see them as too quiet, but I think they are just that way because they know that they have to keep their feelings close to the vest. If I were in his shoes, I would have been very confused about my feelings. If I had been able to express myself, then I think I would have been able to handle it a lot better than he did. The reason I say he would have been a lot better off expressing himself is because if he had, then he would have known exactly what he was feeling and he would have been able to deal with it in an effective way.
