Miss Helen personality type is ENFJ, which is the only type in the four MBTI “E” groups that is not represented in the majority of the population.
I’m not sure why. I can think of three possible reasons.
The first is that ENFJ’s are rare because their participation in the MBTI is relatively low. I’ve written about this here. It’s true that the MBTI has no age limits, so there are probably ENFJs out there who haven’t yet taken the test. But I’ve also written about ENFJ’s who participate at a high rate, so even if ENFJ participation is low overall, there’s nothing in the MBTI rules to prevent people from taking it multiple times and reporting themselves as different types each time.
The second reason is that ENFJ’s are rare because they don’t fit easily into any one personality type category. They don’t “fit in” with the other types, in the way that they aren’t described in a particular personality type group. This is a well-known fact in the personality type community.
