When I was first developing my personality type theory, I realized that I’d created a character to reflect the exact type of people I tend to hang out with. I was trying to figure out how to express this in Jungian terms, when nearly simultaneously, I came across Egg Shen, a character from the movie Kung Fu Hustle. Egg Shen is a Kung Fu master who fights with his Kung Fu skills, not by using super powers.
I thought instantly that Egg Shen was the perfect example of an ENTP personality type because of his focus on tactics rather than supernatural powers. I think what makes him so perfect for this role is his motivation to be the best fighter possible. His desire to be the best fighter in the world comes from his own perception of himself as being better than others. From this desire, he seems to have an excellent sense of humor, as well as a strong drive for self improvement.
I think that Egg Shen is probably the most well-known example of an ENTP personality type, but there are many others that are also very much like him.
