It is very easy for ISTJ to become afraid of what they know or might think, and they are very good at compartmentalizing their thoughts and emotions to avoid having to “decide” on something.
Extroverts are more likely to jump in and make a decision without really looking at all the facts, or at least without thoroughly examining them. ISTJs are more likely to wonder what they would do in a situation, and then implement a plan, taking action once they have decided on a course of action. They are also more likely to keep an open mind about new ideas, even when they initially disagree with them.
