“I am so thrilled to be part of a team in this environment, helping to expand the ‘forest service’ of conservation, from the citizen sector up,” Rowe said in a statement. “This is a time of great transition in conservation, where we must work to ensure our natural heritage is being protected for future generations.”
Rowe has been active in conservation for more than two decades, beginning with her work as an intern for the TNC on the Ground program in 2001.
In 2009, Rowe was named the executive director of the American Forest Foundation, and under her leadership, the foundation expanded its environmental education efforts to include a series of youth forestry events.
